Brick Guard Chimney Care

Frequently Asked Questions by Homeowners in Ontario, CA

Flue cleaning focuses specifically on removing creosote, soot, and blockages from inside the flue liner. A chimney sweep service covers the same cleaning but adds a trained inspection of every accessible component, including the cap, crown, damper, firebox, and exterior masonry. For homeowners who want maintenance and a full condition assessment in a single visit, the chimney sweep service is the more complete option.

Yes, older masonry chimneys throughout San Bernardino County are among the best candidates for waterproofing treatment. Aged mortar and brick absorb moisture readily, especially given the temperature cycling and occasional heavy rainfall in the Inland Empire. We apply a penetrating sealer that repels water without trapping existing moisture inside the masonry, which protects the structure without causing the damage that non-breathable sealers can create.

We assess the existing cap during every service visit. You can often replace a rusted, cracked, or improperly sitting cap on the flue cost-effectively. If the chimney was never capped at all, installation is typically straightforward and can usually be completed the same day we assess it. We will give you a clear recommendation either way before any work begins, with no pressure to proceed immediately.

What Ontario, CA Homeowners Say About Brick Guard Chimney Care

Angela R. | Ontario, CA | Flue Cleaning and Chimney Sweep

I had not had the chimney cleaned in probably three years, maybe more. I finally called Brick Guard Chimney Care after noticing the fireplace was smoking more than usual inside the room. The technician was out the next morning, did a full flue cleaning, and found a stage two creosote issue that would have gotten worse fast. He walked me through everything he found and was completely upfront about what needed attention and what did not. Great experience; highly recommend it to anyone in the Ontario area.

Ellen B. | Ontario, CA | Chimney Waterproofing and Fireplace Repair

We bought an older home near N Euclid Ave. that had a great old masonry chimney, but the mortar was clearly deteriorating from years of exposure. Brick Guard Chimney Care came out, did a thorough inspection, and recommended waterproofing and some targeted fireplace repair on the firebox interior. The technician completed the work in a single visit, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. The chimney looks significantly better, and we feel a lot better about using the fireplace this winter. Fair price and honest people.

Calvin M. | Rancho Cucamonga, CA | Chimney Cap Installation and Flue Cleaning

I searched for chimney sweep services near me and found Brick Guard Chimney Care through a neighbour’s recommendation. They installed a chimney cap I had been putting off for two years and cleaned the flue in the same visit. The whole thing took less than two hours, and the price was exactly what they quoted me on the phone. No surprises, no upsells. I already have them booked for next fall.
